Luke is such a great eater. Now that he is eating table food he eats pretty much anything we put in front of him. This morning he saw Sarah eating pancakes and decided he wanted some too. He also had some scrambled eggs. I think he is becoming a better eater than Sarah.
When we got the Little People nativity set in the mail today they had included these cubes to make a car. Luke thought it was great fun to chase it around.
I took the children to Crown Center the other day to visit the Crayola Land. Luke enjoyed playing with these since they were right on his level. He didn't crawl around too much which was nice because Sarah was usually on the opposite side of the room.

Such a big boy! He loves his new puppy that I got for him the other day. I thought it was cute that he matched his little puppy.

We went to Springfield for Thanksgiving. On Wednesday Jill, Caden, and Tanner came over to play for a little while. Caden and Luke are best buddies and always seem to have a great time together.
Luke is 8 months now and has been changing so much. He has 5 teeth and the 6th one should be coming in any day now. He has also crawled a little bit. He definitely isn't crawling all the time yet but can get where he wants to go.
His new thing is that he wants to pull up on things. He can't quite get very far off the ground but he has the idea down. Bill went in to get him out of bed this morning and this is what he found.

Bill had to lower the mattress so Luke couldn't reach the mobile anymore.

Such a happy boy! Luke is 7 1/2 months now and wearing 12 month clothes. He finally got his 3rd tooth in and now we are just waiting for the 4th one to break through. He has been a little crankier than normal but is usually still up for a smile or a laugh.

Luke is getting bigger and bigger every day. I'm pretty sure he's long passed the 20 pound mark since he eats pretty much constantly. He's finally decided that holding his own bottle isn't all that bad even though he would much rather we do it for him. He also still really likes his baby food. I've been trying to give him table food that he can "chew" up with his two teeth. He likes breads, mashed potatoes, and really likes small pieces of meat. The other morning I was making pancakes for Sarah and he decided he really wanted to try some.
Luke has also been working on getting his top two teeth. It seems like they have been coming in forever and he doesn't handle it very well. Lots of extra drooling and fussiness. I keep wondering why he insists on getting two teeth at a time but maybe it's better so he can get all the pain over at once.

Bill and I are pretty sure he's going to start crawling at any time. He is getting very good at getting around on the floor but that usually consists of turning around on his bottom or stomach. I think it will be a lot more work once he can crawl but maybe it will be better because then he won't be dependent on us to get him where he wants to go.

Last week I took the kids to Faulkner's Pumpkin Patch. Luke loves being outside and is so good about hanging out in his stroller while Sarah gets to run and play. It's hard to believe that at this time next year he will be getting to play with the big kids too.
On Monday, Bill and I took the kids to Deanna Rose Farmstead. It was another beautiful Fall day and we are trying to get out and do as many fun things as possible while Bill is off work this week and while the weather is nice. Luke really seemed to like the goats. Maybe it's because he hears Sarah talk about them and knows how they're her favorite.
Luke was mesmirized by the calf in the barn. The nice thing about Deanna Rose is that the kids can get so close to all the animals. I know he will really enjoy getting to go next year.

Luke turned 7 months on Friday. I can't believe my baby boy is already more than halfway to being a year old! Where has the time gone?! Oh yeah, it's gone to diaper changes and laundry, bottle feedings and baby food, puke and baths. It was definitely harder going from one child to two. The days seemed to get a lot shorter while at the same time getting A LOT longer. It has been one of my greatest joys to see Sarah fall in love with her brother (and vice versa). Sarah has been a phenomenal big sister and I can just barely remember what my life was like when it was just her.

Luke seems to be getting bigger every day. He has already far surpassed in weight and height where she was at this age. When we had in at the pediatrician's office the second week of October he was already just shy of 19 1/2 pounds. It's hard to think that he was bigger at 6 1/2 months than Sarah was at a year.

He is now sitting up completely on his own, although he would much rather grab for things out of his reach which puts him into the perfect crawling position. He is able to spin around in circles without actually moving anywhere. We think he is getting ready to cut another tooth because he has been running a low-grade temperature and his nose is running like crazy. Since he got his first two teeth when he was almost 6 months it would be about right that he is due for another one.
